MARCH – OUR MONTH OF KINGDOM STEWARDSHIP

Welcome to the month of March, 2018. It is our month of Kingdom Stewardship and Maturity!

———-

A steward is someone that is entrusted with another man’s property. As a Christian, you must know and understand that God has entrusted His business in our hands.

Life is about opportunities and responsibilities – and then accountability.

God is calling us this month to the responsibility of being His steward, and the job does not end there – we must give account of our stewardship.

Luke 16: 1-2 – And he said also to his disciples, There was a certain rich man, which had a steward; and the same was accused to him that he had wasted his goods. And he called him, and said to him, How is it that I hear this of you? give an account of your stewardship; for you may be no longer steward.”

WHO IS A STEWARD?

A steward is someone with an entrusted responsibility.

A steward is a manager of people, gifts and resources.

A steward is someone appointed by the master to a particular responsibility, and MUST give account. The most delicate part of stewardship is ACCOUNTABILITY. Without accountability, anyone can do anything.

Luke 12: 15 – And he said to them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man’s life consists not in the abundance of the things which he possesses.”

Your life is not in your money or beauty – do not let pride take over you. Destruction ends the journey of the proud.

Vs. 20, 21 – “But God said to him, You fool, this night your soul shall be required of you: then whose shall those things be, which you have provided? So is he that lays up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.”

The man in these verses was not only proud, he was also greedy.

The proud and greedy gets all he can, cans all he can and sits on the cans!

Exalting the things God gave you – talents, money, beauty; and presenting them like they came by your power and wisdom is pride.

Greed is intense selfish desire for something; it is excessive desire for something needed – money, food, fame, power, position etc.

What Is God Saying To Us Today?

Prov. 11: 24, 25 – “There is that scatters, and yet increases; and there is that withholds more than is meet, but it tends to poverty. The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that waters shall be watered also himself.”

Giving is the only cure to greed. God is asking us to be the liberal soul.

What Can We Give?

Mark 10: 28 – 30 – “Then Peter began to say to him, See, we have left all, and have followed you. And Jesus answered and said, Truly I say to you, There is no man that has left house, or brothers, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel’s, but he shall receive an hundred times now in this time, houses, and brothers, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life.”

No insurance company in the world can insure you for or give you eternal life; only GIVING does that!

We must have the understanding that all that comes to us is not for us only. According to those verses, the things we can give are money, time, material possessions, talents etc.

How Do You Give? – II Cor. 9: 7

Not all giving returns with blessings. Gal. 6: 7-10 says we should be careful, whatever we sow, we reap.

  1. Give at your capacity. Let no one determine what you give, give according to what you can handle and not less. Be liberal but not below the capacity God has given us.
  2. Give cheerfully. Most people do not receive from God because they give out of bitter, hurting and grudging hearts.
  3. Give with love. Whatever you do outside of love does not move God. Giving without love has no reward. Giving to God must be done out of love – the blessing that comes out of it outweighs others!
  4. Give with thanksgiving. Anytime you thank God for anything, that thing multiplies!

I pray for you today, God will give you the grace to be a good, loyal and faithful steward. You will not be found guilty of not managing the resources He gave you right.

The month of March shall be a good month for you in the name of Jesus! AMEN!
